November 6-8, 2012 marked the inaugural Leading Change in Changing Times: EdTechTeacher iPad Summit USA. Educators from around the world came to the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. We followed that event with a 2013 event in Atlanta, GA at The Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center.

April 10-12, EdTechTeacher hosted a second iPad Summit at The Georgia Tech Hotel and Convention Center. Once again, this was a SOLD OUT event bringing together over 700 educators from across the country and around the world. Keynote speakers included Angela Maiers and the team of Jennie Magiera, Autumn Laidler, and Anita Orozco-Huffman as well as EdTechTeacher’s Tom Daccord and Greg Kulowiec.
EdTechTeacher’s Tom Daccord and Greg Kulowiec were joined by educators from across North America to offer a total of seven hands-on sessions on three different topics. Please view their materials to learn more.
This Call for Proposals resulted in over 118 submissions for the iPad Summit, and – once again – it became another summit “not about iPads.” For several hours on April 12th, #ettipad topped the trends list!

For the inaugural event, we issued a Call for Proposals for concurrent sessions that resulted in over 80 submissions from educators across the country and as far away as Singapore. Tony Wagner, Innovation Education Fellow at the Technology & Entrepreneurship Center at Harvard and author of Creating Innovators and The Global Achievement Gap, set the tone for the event. As EdTechTeacher Co-Founder Justin Reich wrote, ”It was an iPad conference not about iPads. It was about good teaching and learning.”
The EdTechTeacher Team of Tom Daccord, Greg Kulowiec, and Beth Holland was joined by Lainie Rowell (CA), Tony Perez (GA), Shawn McCusker (IL), and Doug Kiang (HI) to run 7 different pre-conference workshops.
For more information about this exciting professional development day, we have posted all of their workshop materials.
The full conference offered two days of keynotes, concurrent sessions, and informal learning events.
